We are committed to protecting your privacy and to handling your personal data in accordance with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) where applicable, and other relevant data protection laws.

2. Personal Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data, depending on how you interact with us:

a) Information you provide directly

  • Identity and contact data: your name and email address, collected when you purchase a licence or contact us for support.
  • Purchase data: records of transactions, including the plan purchased, date, and amount. Full payment card details are processed exclusively by our payment processor and are not stored by us.
  • Support communications: any information you provide when you contact us by email, including the content of your messages and any attachments.

b) Information collected automatically

  • Usage and technical data: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited on our website, and the dates and times of your visits.
  • Cookie data: information collected through cookies and similar tracking technologies, as described in Section 8 below.

c) Plugin usage data

  • When the WP Rank plugin is active on your WordPress site, it communicates with our servers and third-party services to validate your licence and perform its functions. This may involve transmitting your WordPress site’s domain name, your licence key, and the content of keyword queries and article generation requests (which are processed by third-party AI providers).
  • We do not access, collect, or store the content of articles generated through the plugin once they are published to your WordPress site. Content generated remains under your control on your own server.

3. How We Collect Personal Data

We collect personal data through the following means:

  • Directly from you when you make a purchase or contact us.
  • Automatically through our website using cookies, server logs, and analytics tools.
  • From our payment processor when a transaction is completed.
  • From the WP Rank plugin when it communicates with our servers for licence validation or feature operation.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases for processing your personal data:

  • Contract: processing is necessary to fulfil our contract with you, including delivering your licence, providing support, and processing your payment.
  • Legitimate interests: we process certain technical and usage data to maintain the security and performance of our website and software, prevent fraud, and improve our products, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation: we may process personal data where required to comply with applicable law, such as maintaining financial records.
  • Consent: where we rely on consent (for example, for marketing communications or non-essential cookies), you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

5. How We Use Your Personal Data

We use the personal data we collect to:

  • Process and fulfil your licence purchase and deliver the Software.
  • Manage your account and authenticate your licence.
  • Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support.
  • Send you transactional communications, such as purchase receipts, licence delivery emails, and important service notices.
  • Send you product updates, new feature announcements, or promotional communications about WP Rank, where you have consented or where permitted by applicable law. You may opt out at any time.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Analyse website traffic and usage patterns to improve our website and the Software.
  • Comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations, including tax and financial record-keeping.

6. Sharing Your Personal Data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data with third parties only in the following circumstances:

a) Service providers and processors

We engage trusted third-party companies to help us operate and deliver the Service. These include:

  • AI model providers to process keyword queries and generate article content. Queries sent to these providers may include keyword terms and contextual information about your target topic.
  • Search data providers to retrieve SERP data for keyword analysis and content research.
  • Analytics providers to help us understand website traffic and user behaviour in aggregate.
  • Email delivery providers to send transactional and marketing emails on our behalf.
  • Cloud hosting providers for website and infrastructure hosting.

All service providers are required to process your personal data only on our instructions and in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

b) Legal requirements

We may disclose your personal data if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Artemis Labs, our users, or the public.

c) Business transfers

If Artemis Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or insolvency proceeding, your personal data may be transferred to the relevant third party as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such transfer and any material changes to this Privacy Policy.

7. International Data Transfers

When your personal data is transferred outside Singapore or outside the EEA, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection, including by using contractual safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (where required by GDPR) or by relying on adequacy decisions.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that your personal data may be transferred to, and processed in, countries other than your country of residence. We will always handle such transfers in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

  • Purchase and licence records are retained for at least 7 years to comply with Singapore accounting and tax obligations.
  • Support communications are retained for up to 3 years after the last interaction, unless a longer retention period is required.
  • Website analytics data is retained in aggregate form and may be held indefinitely. Data associated with identifiable individuals is retained for a maximum of 26 months (or as configured in our analytics provider).
